MARCH...In like a Lion!

March is best known for its turning of the season from Winter to Spring, unpredictable weather - In like a Lion, out like a Lamb?, St. Patrick's Day, March Madness NCAA Basketball, and the change to Daylight Saving time.

I was born in March! And several of my immediate family members are too. The best thing I like about March is that it's winding down to Spring. I am a freeze baby...knees knocking and teeth chattering for the whole month, while all I can say is burrrrrr! This March of 2026 started off with brutal weather patterns – strong winds, below freezing temps, snow accumulating up to 5 feet at my house.....many snowed-in days until I had enough and flew to Georgia to hang out with family!

Winter, in general, is not my favorite season.  I prefer more sunshine, soft cool breezes, warmer temps, and lovely floral and green scenery.  Drab days, overcast skies, wet, snow-covered streets and sidewalks, dirty snow splashes on cars and clothing….just makes me feel so “blah”.  March came in that way this year.  When I arrived in Georgia, it was 70degrees and sunny.  When I left Georgia one month later, it was 70degrees and sunny. When I landed at Cleveland Hopkins Airport, it felt like 70degrees and dusk dark… that only lasted until around midnight, and when I woke up the next morning, I realized my coach had turned back into a pumpkin!

I’m anxiously waiting for March to leave like a Lamb.  I think I’ll feel much better and be back to my old self again.  I’m looking forward to Spring and the new, refreshed landscape that nature will provide…that will surely boost my spirits and renew my enthusiasm for enjoying all the new blossoming scenery and all the wonderful things nature and life will bring,

I’ve thought a lot this month about Mike and Jesse.  I’ve looked at pictures of us and reminisced about what we were doing and where we were when the picture was taken.  I found myself smiling and even laughing at some of the pics, and that really lifted my spirits. It also made me realize how happy I was with my husband Mike and then of course with my special significant friend Jesse.  Going through those photos made me realize that the weather conditions outside really didn’t matter when I had someone to share my life with, regardless of what month it was.

Looking at those pics made me appreciate how blessed I am to have been loved and cared about by two great men.  I think about how God favored me, and I am so grateful for it.  So instead of complaining about the weather, I’m going to start talking about the goodness of God and His Unfailing Love!

If you are reading this post and you have found some ways to cope with winter weather blahs or other discouragements, would you share them with us here in this safe, secure, nonjudgmental community space for healing?  We would love to hear from you.

God’s Blessings and Love,

grace
