SEPTEMBER - I REMEMBER!
I'm looking back on September and reflecting on all the memorable events during the month. I'm reflecting on the positive experiences I enjoyed that month and how much I appreciate the beautiful memories, which I hope never to forget. I'm reflecting on the fact that I was diligent in attending my TaiChi exercise program daily. An act that resulted in physical improvements (toning and energy). I'm reflecting on the social luncheon with some of the ladies who worked with my late husband and adopted me as a friend.
I'm reflecting on another social luncheon to celebrate my dear friend's 85th birthday, even though she looks 20 years younger. I'm reflecting on social time with my sister-in-law and her friend visiting me and enjoying fun time together. I'm reflecting on the blessing of having the resources to hire a company to wash all my windows, inside and out, as I seek to prepare the house for winter. I'm reflecting on another blessing of having the resources to hire a company to repair and level two large concrete blocks in my driveway. I'm reflecting on the blessing of having the resources to get my bob haircut trimmed, my roots touched up with color, and my hair washed and styled.
I'm reflecting on the blessing of having the resources to hire a company to paint some rooms in my house. Lastly, I'm reflecting on the blessing of visiting my cousin who lives in Panama, Central America, for 1 week at her home on the Pacific Ocean front! Truly the highlight of all of my reflections. The point I'm making through this exercise is to show how many times we are blessed each and every day. There's a scripture that says, "God will pour you out a blessing so abundant that you won't be able to count it all." Just in reflecting on one month prior, I realize how blessed I truly am for so many different reasons. I have the blessing of the greatest memory of all, and that is whenever I think about Mike.
I have so many memories I have lost count, and as I age, I even can't remember some of them until someone mentions something about him. This is why I am so very grateful, appreciative, and in amazement of God and what he can and has done for me. I'm thankful for all these reflections I've had on everything that happened in September. I'm grateful for having the blessing of a husband as wonderful as Mike. It helps me to reflect often because that's the motivation I get to keep moving forward and living the life God and Mike prepared for me.
If you have lost someone you dearly love and you've figured out ways to cope so that you can move forward into your new life without them, would you please share what you've done with us here in this safe, secure, nonjudgmental community space for healing? We welcome you to share.
Thank you,
grace
