June - What's all the fuss about!

I can't take credit for the answer to this question. I found them on the internet while researching my title! Here's what I found out:

The month of June is known as the time many schools let out for the summer, and June 20, 21, or 22 (depending on the year) is the longest day of the year with the most daylight hours in the Northern Hemisphere. June also plays host to the ever-important national holidays of:

  • Father's Day: A day to honor fathers and father figures.

  • Juneteenth: Celebrates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans.

It's also the middle of the year and the midpoint of the growing season between planting and harvesting. The Strawberry Moon appears at various points every year in June; this last full moon of spring is named after the short strawberry harvesting period in the month—and not because the moon looks anything like the fruit.

June also marks the month that two of my children are born on the same day, but 10 years apart (go figure how that could have happened)

June is the most popular month for weddings!

And, did you know there's a National Holiday for every day in June? Here's just a few -

June 1st: Oscar the Grouch Day

June 3rd: National Leave the Office Early Day

June 4th: Hug Your Cat Day

June 28th: International Widows' Day

I've always experienced June as a month that is busy with tending to the garden, answering invitations to celebrations be it weddings, graduation parties, birthday parties, and get out of the house and go play days!!

I also have tons of fond memories of summer vacations as a family, trips to the beach, amusement park, family reunions, and some of the best most fun backyard parties thrown by friends and family. This June so far, has been like that! I've also spent a lot of time remembering how full and rich Junes of the past were with Mike and all the kids and grands coming for summer visits.

I've been spending a lot of time talking and reminiscing with God about all the blessings and favor He's bestowed upon me as a wife, a mom, a grandma, a sister, and a friend to many. I also spend time meditating on my times with Mike which were especially fun in thie summer because we had more time to get out and do things together. Of course, thinking about all these things gives me pause to laugh and pause to cry.

You may be thinking, why on earth are you still crying when the good Lord has filled you with so many happy memories? Well, truth is, it's the happy memories that overwhelm me and make me realize how extremely priviledged I am to carry around thoughts and feelings about what a tremendously good life God has provided me in the past, present and if it's His will, the future!

If you have something you want to share about how you deal or have dealt with Summers without your loved one, please feel free to share your story on this safe, secure, non-judgmental blog site. You'll never know how much your story can profoundly encourage and motivate someone else to embrace their new journey without that special someone!

God's blessings, peace and favor be with you......
